As any veteran of the C-19 WFH generation will tell you, “we can’t hear you Samantha” is the long form of “on-mute”. The making of talking gestures with one’s hand and pointing at your ears like the hear no evil monkey emoji is also common form in the remote workspace. Add in a little “you’re br-e-a-k-i-n-g u-p” and those awkward network drop moments, and you have the makings of an average Tuesday morning meeting.
In 2023 being on-mute is more than not being heard. It’s about not being adequately understood, it’s about expressing yourself better, it’s about breaking through the clutter and about finding your voice.
As a specialist content marketing agency, MediaHeads 360 has always strived to amplify campaign messages. In 2023 we’re going a step further and we’re looking to take entire campaigns ‘off mute’! As a company, we’ve always believed in the value that people play in campaigns and as part of taking your campaign off mute, we believe there is value in finding our own, personal voice.
With stories being at the heart of our business, being able to think about and articulate one’s personal story, helps un-lock finding our own voice. When we can tell our own story, we are in a better position to help brands tell theirs!
Key to one’s personal story is being authentic. There’s a certain amount of vulnerability in being authentic, it allows people to connect on a very real level. There is also a relatability in being vulnerable in that as much as we try and hide our soft spots, being vulnerable is human. Connecting at a very real human level is fundamental in letting your voice be heard and allowing others to find their voices too!
Connections at a human level allow us to create memorable moments and it is these moments that create an additional layer in our discourse. Memories create emotional references and this in turn triggers a connection to a person. We need to find our voice so we can be memorable.
Exceptional stories are well structured. To find our voice we need to think about our personal story in a well-structured and logical manner. Everyone has a memorable story to tell, and it is no con-incidence that those who have considered their story, how it plays out, how it is communicated and what messages it leaves behind, have been off mute since mastering their narrative. Don’t just relay a narrative, take the time you need to really tell your story.
Stories are journeys and we are all on a personal journey that is being written daily. We are looking forward to sharing more insight into telling better personal stories as we take your campaign off mute in 2023. As we tell our own stories better, so we extend the learning to clients, brands, and campaigns. We look forward to hearing you in 2023!
